About Thomas English

Thomas English began his real estate career as a broker with CB Richard Ellis. While there, English worked exclusively in retail, including tenant representation, land sales, shopping center leasing and multi-location disposition. With a growing passion for all aspects of the retail real estate business, English left the firm to begin looking for new opportunities to further develop his retail expertise.

Finding promising opportunity in the development sector, English and another broker partnered to create Maquina Realty Corporation, a real estate firm specializing in retail projects. Together, the duo completed $30 million in acquisition and development projects, creating name recognition and reputation in the retail development world.

With years of industry experience, from brokerage to development to acquisition under his belt, English made the decision to venture out on his own to create Thomas English Retail Real Estate. From its inception in 2004, the company has grown significantly, developing and acquiring its current 20-property portfolio totaling 425,000 square feet valued at $80 million.

As the development business began turning toward long-term hibernation in early 2008, English decided to return to his roots and bring the full scope of his experience to bear on behalf of some of the industry’s largest landlords as an associate with Sitehawk Retail Real Estate, which is the premier boutique retail firm in Indiana.  English was instrumental in a reformulation of the now growing Sitehawk Property Management division and in conjunction with Larry Davis created the Sitehawk Landlord Services Group that currently leases a portfolio of over 4 million square feet on behalf of Inland, Simon, Kimco, Casto, GGP and others.

Mr English has 13 years of industry experience and is an active member of several professional and industry groups, including the International Council of Shopping Centers, CCIM and Urban Land Institute.

When not working to expand his business, Tom stays very busy with his wife Lisa and their 3 children, Chloe, Claire and Cagan.
